Two chest tombs. Early C18. Limestone. Group comprises: one
finely carved lyre ended chest tomb, east end having figure head
over open book; 2 oval wreathed panels on north side, swag panel
with putti to south; thick cyma moulded top and base. Two brass
plates attached to top, one to Thomas Mayo, died 1761, other to
Henry Mayer, died 1821, signed by C. ILES of HAMPTON. Plain
rectangular chest tomb with fluted pilasters and illegible
inscriptions.
