3/360 Foresters Cottage

II

Detached house. Mid-late C17; mid-late C18 addition. Random and
coursed rubble limestone; ashlar and artificial stone rebuilt
chimneys; stone slate roof. Two-storey with attic. Front:
scattered mullioned casements. Earliest part of building to right
with hipped roof porch addition having reset 2-light chamfered
mullioned casement; 2-light above. Ground floor 3-light to right.
C20 gabled addition to left with 3-light ground floor casement
beyond, small 2-light above. West end: single-window fenestration
to gable end, 3-light ground floor, 2-light upper floor and attic
single-light, all with hoodmoulds. Gable-mounted chimney with
moulded cap. Cellar doorway altered from original mullioned
casement. Rear: similar scattered 2 and 3-light chamfered
mullioned casements with hoodmoulds. Two eaves-level gabled
dormers with C20 casements. Interior not inspected. Recorded as
public house in 1842.
