(The Tower Cottage)
- II
Former wool drying house. Early C19 or earlier. Squared dressed limestone,
stone slate roof. Cylindrical structure with conical roof to stone capping.
Towards the house, which is not of special interest, a pointed arch doorway with
plank door under squat paired pointed lights; to left and right of door similar
small pointed openings, then at eaves level above these similar openings with
wood ventilating louvres. Roof structure is C20. A good example of a type of
structure once more common in the area.
