Former school building and attached house. Late C17; c1840
school building. Random rubble limestone, partially roughcast
rendered; ashlar limestone to school; ashlar and brick rebuilt
chimneys; stone slate roof. Two-storey house; 2-storey school
on east side forming L-plan. South front: gable end of house to
left with doorway behind C20 glazed conservatory porch; timber
casement to left; 3-light chamfered mullioned upper floor casement
with hoodmould. Two-window 3-light mullioned fenestration to
school to right all with Tudor headed lights and hoodmoulds.
Hipped roof to school with eaves-mounted chimney on east side
having plain cap. North: gable end of house to right with large
bow window to ground floor, cross window to upper floor with timber
lintel and small fixed light above. Small casement and doorway
with glazed door under combined hoodmould on east side of house.
C20 addition to rear of school is not of special interest. West
side of house is built against road embankment with blocked upper
floor chamfered doorway having small gable over. Interior not
inspected. School built as one of several dame schools in
Woodchester.
