II
Two cottages, one built early C18 one early-mid C19, now one.
Coursed squared and dressed limestone. Stone slate roof to the
earlier cottage, slate and asbestos tile to the later cottage, one
coursed squared and dressed limestone stack and one rendered stack.
Rectangular plan. C20 lean-to porch at the right gable end and
part-glazed lean-to porch on the south side, not of special
interest. Two-storey, 4-windowed facade lit by 3-light, double-
chamfered stone-mullioned casements and one 2-light double-
chamfered casement (now with the mullion removed), to the early C18
cottage. Two-light casements with dressed stone surrounds to the
later cottage, two with stone mullions inserted C20, two with metal
casements. Central part-glazed C20 door within the original
narrow flat-chamfered dressed stone surround (now within a C20
porch) to the earlier cottage. C20 glazed door to the later
cottage. Axial and gable-end stacks.
Interior; open fireplace with bressumer beam inglenook seat, door
to former projecting bread oven (now demolished) at the rear of the
fireplace.
