9/178 The Old Bakehouse
GV II
Detached house. Late C18-early C19. Coursed squared and dressed
limestone with dressed stone quoins. Stone slate on the forward
facing roof pitch artificial stone slate at the rear. Ashlar
stacks. Lean-to porch with an artificial stone slate roof at the
rear. Rectangular plan with extensions to both gable ends and
lean-to extensions at rear. C20 painted brick lean-to at the rear,
not of special interest. Symmetrical, 2-windowed facade. All
windows lighting the facade of the main body 16-pane sashes.
Single C20 skylight at the centre of the forward facing roof pitch.
l½ storey extension at the left gable end with a large plate glass
window with a concrete lintel. Two 2-light segmental-headed window
and a part-glazed C20 door in the left gable end. Two-storey
garage extension with double plank doors and a lower roof line to
the right of the main body. Interior not inspected.
