Large detached house. Mid C19, extended late C19-early C20.
Coursed squared and dressed limestone with dressed stone quoins.
Stone slate roof with ashlar stacks. Complex plan with a
rectangular main body extended back at rear left and for a short
distance to the left. Two storeys and attic with 2-light hipped
dormers. Twin-gabled entrance front lit by 2, 3 and 4-light
double-chamfered stone-mullioned casements. The 4-light casements
to the ground floor with king mullions. Central 12-panelled door
set back within a flat-chamfered 'Tudor'-arched surround. Entrance
to porch also comprises a wide 'Tudor'-arched surround with a
stopped hood and a relieving arch. Two-storey stone-mullioned
canted bay window to the left-hand return. Two-storey water tower
with entrance to the house at ground floor level, at the point
where the main body returns left. Late C19-early C20 wing with a
forward facing gable runs away to the left. Two-storey canted bay
to the forward facing gable with stone-mullioned casements with
transoms. All casements with glazing bars. Axial and lateral
stacks, some twin, some triple, all with moulded cappings and flat-
chamfered skirtings. Ball finials to the gables. Lead drainpipes
with twisted cable decoration. Rose decoration to the rainwater
heads and gutters.
