Dwelling, former Rectory. C17 with considerable C19 modification. rubble, concrete
tile roofs, double diagonal-shafted stack, south and quadruple-shafted north, in
ashlar as rebuilt by Thomas Folljames c1836; small bellcote. A Z-plan with principal
block in two parts, connecting wing to old Rectory (q.v.) left, and stable block,
right. Main front 1½ storeys, 1-windowed projecting gable left with 2-light at first
floor and 4-light C19 mullioned ground floor, 2-windowed section to right with small
one-light leaded casements in deep splayed reveals. Between these two parts,
centrally, plank door under C19 Tudor arch, and a C20 door extreme right. The garden
wing, connecting to the old Rectory (q.v.) of which it once formed part, two storeys,
2+2-windowed, 2-light with stone mullions to ground floor only in left hand section,
on small single lights flanking external stack to gable, right. Stable wing includes
wide flat 4-centred arch in projecting gable, flanked by 'Tudor' door and 2-light
window under segmental arch. Interior includes one 4-light ovolo-mould wood casement
at back of property.
The C17 part of this property was at one time the Rectory, but became a service wing
to the rebuilt Rectory of c1836 (q.v.) and is now a separate dwelling.
