6/6 The Vicarage
II
Vicarage. Late C17-early C18 and mid-late C19. Late C17-early C18
range limestone rubble with dressed quoins, C19 range coursed
squared and dressed limestone, stone slate roof and ashlar stacks
to both parts. C19 range rectangular in plan, late C17-early C18
range 'L'-shaped with C19 service extension at right angles at
rear. C19 range forms present symmetrical, 2-storey, 3-windowed
facade, lit by single and 2-light stone-mullioned windows
containing 8-pane glazing-bar sashes with horns. Stopped hoods
over ground floor windows. Central C19 fielded 4-panel door with
rectangular hall light with marginal glazing bars and stopped hood.
Late C17-early C18 range at rear; 2 storeys and cellar. Six-pane
sash in dressed stone surround with keystone lighting rear wall,
similar window in south gable end. Double-chamfered surround to
former stone-mullioned window in gable end of wing at rear. Two-
light double-chamfered stone-mullioned casement reused in C19
service extension. Roof; flat coping and moulded kneelers gable
ends of C19 part. Gable end stacks. Stacks to late C17-early C18
part with moulded cappings. Interior not inspected.
