3 cottages on site of medieval hall house. Some C12/C13 and
C15/C16 work in passage between No 5 and No 13. Nos 13 and 15 have
C19 fronts. Passage between has remains of oak screens partition
on No 5 and 3 C15 or C16 arches, 2 moulded and stopped, central one
butted on to C12/C13 pointed arch. Doorway on left to yard of No
15 (behind No 13) is also medieval, with studded wide boards and 2
strap hinges. No 15 has medieval arched fireplace and blind
pointed arches on wall facing No 17 (St. Michael's House, q.v.).
Arches line up with blocked arch in No 22 Gumstool Hill (q.v.). No
5 in coursed dressed stone with Cotswold stone slate roof and stone
stack to right. 2-storeys, central 16-pane sash on each floor and
C20 doorway within oak screens partition inside passage. Nos 13
and 15 are a pair in coursed dressed stone with Cotswold stone
slate roof and large central ridge stack and small end stack to
left. One small gable each and steeply gabled porches at each end,
facing in. 2-storeys, 2-windows, one in each gable, long 2-light
leaded casements with stone mullion. Ground floor has two 3-light
mullion and transom casements. Porches have angled arched doors
and single tall lancet to front, and sprocketed roofs.
