Formerly one house, now 2. Early-mid C17. Limestone rubble
interspersed with large squared and dressed blocks (probably
reused), artificial stone slate and corrugated asbestos roofing,
stone stacks. Rectangular main body with single storey extension
to right gable end. Single storey lean-to extension at rear of
Brook Cottage (left). Main body; 2 storeys, irregular
fenestration, 2-light C19 stone-mullioned casement lower left
within blocking of former doorway. C19 plank door right of window,
single light casement to first floor. Two clamp buttresses with
offsets and two 2-light hollow-moulded stone-mullioned windows at
left gable end. Two-light stone-mullioned casement to lean-to at
rear. No 61 (right); small double-chamfered window left, large
double-chamfered single-light right. C20 part-glazed door right,
single-light right of door. Two C19 two-light casements to first
floor. Flat gable end coping with roll-cross saddles at left gable
end. Three C20 skylights in roof at rear.
Interior of Brook Cottage; tie beams with run-out stops and
moulded stops, large bread oven left of open fireplace with
bressumer beam.
