south east of The Pines
GV II
Archway in wall. Mid C17. Ashlar limestone; brick wall with
random rubble backing. Round arch with triple keystone, keystones
at 45° and heavy imposts. Alternating rusticated quoins to jambs.
Plain stone coping to wall projects forward above arch. This
length of wall is the most significant fragment of a complete
walled garden; other walls collapsed in part. Associated with a
house called The Greys, renamed The Pines (q.v.) upon demolition of
main part of building.
