Detached house. Early C19. Smooth rendered, hipped slate roof. Three storey, three
window sashes with glazing bars set in deep reveals. Six panel door with traceried
fanlight, set in stone surround with open pediment on brackets. Wood eaves cornice.
Plaque left of door records that Sir Isaac Pitman here '..... invented his system of
shorthand known as Phonography in the year 1837'.
