Large detached house, now home for mentally handicapped. Early
C19. Rendered, hipped slate roof with parapet. Square. 2 storeys.
Entrance front to west has 3 windows, 12-pane sashes, with central
one larger. Ground floor has central porch with cornice and
blocking course, and keystone, with double inside doors half-glazed
with decorative tracery. Flanking round windows. Garden front to
south has large central canted bay on ground floor with full height
sashes. First floor has three 12-pane sashes.
Interior: much original joinery. Main entrance hall retains
cantilevered stone staircase with swept wooden handrail and wrought
iron balustrade of acanthus leaf design. Oval skylight over
stairwell.
