churchyard, about 16m south-west of
tower, Church of St Bartholomew
GV II
Chest tombs. Late C18, early C19. Stone. John Morgan, died 1793:
flat lid, moulded edge, indented corners. Sides raised rectangular
panel, scalloped upper corners with paterae; ends wide pilaster
with fluted capital, raised rect-angular panel to stem, moulded
base, all on a moulded base. Good lettering, some italic. About
1½m to south east Anne Herbert, died 1813: coped lid, step and
square edge. Sunk panel to sides with double step edge, fluted
Doric columns to corners, raised rectangular panel to ends.
Moulded top to base, plain step. Good lettering; later
inscription.
