Two attached houses. Early C17 with late C17 or early C18
enlargement; late C18 or early C19 addition to rear. Random
rubble limestone to Sackville House, ashlar to The Steps; random
rubble chimneys; stone slate roof. Sackville House: two-storey
with attic block facing road with small earlier single-storey with
attic wing. The Steps: recessed chamfered mullioned casement
fenestration to main part, upper floor casement being C20
insertion. Doorway with C20 glazed door and pitched porch hood in
angle with wing. Single-window fenestration to gable end of wing,
2-light recessed chamfered mullioned casement to ground floor,
single-light above, both with hoodmoulds. Two C20 gabled attic
dormers. South side: C20 casement fenestration to The Steps;
mullioned casements in linking section to left. North side:
rebuilt ridge-mounted chimney to main gable of Sackville House;
off-centre upper floor 2-light casement below. Interiors not
inspected.
