Early C18 with early C19 alterations. Roughcast; 2 storeys plus attic;
centre and two projecting gabled wings; 2+1+2 early C19 Gothick 2-light
sashes with pointed glazing bars, and drip moulds; central doorway with
square fanlight and 6-fielded-panelled door; coped gables; parapet; lead
rainwater head with initials IG and date 1719. Good contemporary staircase
with open strings and turned spiral balusters. A former rectory and home
of the Rev. Francis Gisborne, 1732-1821, founder of many Derbyshire charities.
