Lodge. c1830-40 probably by Paxton and Robertson. Italianate style. Coursed squared sandstone with sandstone dressings. Plain tile hipped roof with overhang on brackets. Two ashlar lateral stacks. Plain first floor band. Two storeys, L-plan.

South elevation of three bays. Projecting bay to left has to the ground floor a bay window of 1-3-1 round-arched lights. Three-light window above with round-arched lights. To the right in the angle between the two wings, a flat-roofed ashlar porch with moulded imposts and cornice. Chamfered angle. Round-arched window and doorway within, the doorway with massive jambs and lintel. Panelled door. To the right a single light round-arched window. Similar single light and three-light window above.

West elevation has a single light round-arched window to each floor, projecting chimney breast and paired round-arched windows. East elevation has a bay window with three-light window above, as to the south.

Built as part of the picturesque model village by Paxton for the Sixth Duke of Devonshire.
