Birch Hall Farmhouse and outbuildings

Farmhouse and outbuildings under continuous roof. Dated 1704, 1759 and 1839. Coursed gritstone rubble, gritstone dressings and quoins. Stone slate roof. Stone gable end and ridge stacks. Two storeys, L-plan.

North elevation; farmhouse in centre with central early C20 gabled, wooden porch, glazed with stained glass. Panelled door, early C20, also with stained glass. To east C19 plain sash with flush surround. To west recessed two-light flush mullion window. Also similar windows in same arrangement. Over porch datestone inscribed 'HGM 1759', also carved with figures and animals. To west doorcase to alleyway through buildings. C19 plank door. Beyond, the barn with large quoined surround arch. Western corner of barn cut away in curve to follow line of road.

To east of farmhouse outbuildings with double doors. To rear of farmhouse, doorcase with large chamfered quoined surround. Lintel dated 1704. Quoin to side inscribed '1839'. One, formerly three light chamfered mullion window, now two-light. West side of barn has triangular vents.
