Canal bridge. 1779, by engineer John Varley, with later
repairs. Red brick with stone dressings. Single segmental
arch, mostly of brick but partly repaired in stone. Plain brick
spandrels and parapets, capped by chamfered stone copings. Wall
splay out to each end and finish in a brick pier with large
stone coping. Built as part of the Erewash Canal. Included for
group value only.
