II*
Church, probably early C12, with alterations dated 1881 on lead - rainwater heads. Calciferous sandstone squared coursed rubble from the nearby Roman Wall, large flush quoins; stone slate roof with coped gables and kneelers. Two bay nave and single bay chancel. Nave has west bellcote, rebuilt with west wall in C18. Entrance in south wall has plank door and shouldered lintel. South wall has one and three-light windows with trefoil heads of 1881, plus one original lancet window in chancel. Chancel east window of 1881 has trefoil head. North wall has small early window, filled north door and three-light trefoil-headed window.
Interior fittings removed in 1970s. Chancel arch is Roman, reputed to have come from the nearby Roman Fort at Birdoswald. Font reinstalled in 2019 and church reconsecrated, having been declared redundant in 1970s.
