Barn. Probably C17 or early C18. Stone with slate roof. South facade has open
gallery under pentice roof to east end, over lower level formed by slope in
ground level. To west, former entrance, now window flanked by windows, possibly
former stable; central entrance under continuation of pentice; gallery has
timber posts and rail, and entrance. Lower level has 2 entrances, one door has
vertical slots. Rear has central barn doors with outshut to left. East gable
end has lean-to outshut. Property of The National Trust, the gift of Beatrix
Potter.
