Threshing barn, now barn, over blocked up shippon originally entered from South
gable, probably C16; Shippon with granary over added to North probably during
C18; horse gin house with curved wall to North, now Shippon, added to East
across wagon door during C19. Stone rubble walls, with protruding through
stones to Shippon; 4' plinth to South gable end; graduated greenslate roof with
stone ridge. Barn 8 bays. Shippon 3 bays. Later doorway with C20 doors in
North East corner of barn; 3 windows: one with massive stone lintel and door in
old horse gin house. Barn roof of massive upper cruck trusses, pegged at apex
with ridge piece, ties at 2 levels with curved braces and 2 levels of trenched
purlins with curved wind braces. Shippon has king post roof with principals
halved and pegged at apex and 3 levels of trenched purlins with curved wind
braces. C20 shippons added to West not of interest.
