House. Early C18 incorporating an earlier (perhaps C17)
structure. Plain coloured brick with red brick dressings; roof
material not visible. Double-depth plan. 3 storeys. Front:
regular 4-window range, the right-hand windows blank. Parapet
with stone coping. Sashes in revealed frames (the left-hand
sashes with 8-panes, the others with 12) under rubbed red brick
window arches with shaped keyblocks. 2nd floor windows have
rubbed red brick aprons in addition. Ground floor with
tripartite segmental bowed window with pilaster divisions and
flat modillion cornice. Good late C18 wooden doorcase (to left),
pilasters, cornice, pediment, panelled reveals (the top 3 panels
raised and fielded), and a 6-panelled door (the top 4 raised and
fielded) and oval fanlight with glazing bars, are approached by
stone swept steps with ramped iron rail. Interior undergoing
major renovation work at time of re-survey (1989); some framing
visible that may be C17, but full inspection not possible.
