House. Early C17 with mid C17 and early C20 additions. Timber-
framed with rendered brick infilling and plain tile roof.
Early C17 lobby entry house, with a mid C17 building added to east
and north in early C20.Both moved from Sussex. Early C17 house
to right (west): 2 storeys and attic framed with mid-rails to
each storey, large rectangular panels and tension braces and
close-studded gable. Brick ridge stack off-centre to Left.
Irregular fenestration of two small casements to front
elevation and three to gable. end, three original with mullions
moulded internally. Ribbed door in plain wooden architrave
beneath stack. Mid C17 house has 3 wings projecting to front,
2 adjoined to right and one to left. 2 to right of brick in
stretcher bond with close-studded gable probably early C20. Wing
to left has brick ground floor and timber-framing with brick
infilling to first floor and gable, with cusped bargeboards.
Main range brick to ground floor, timber-framed above with 2
shore-like arch-braces. Brick ridge stack at right end and another
towards left end. Very large gabled dormer to centre. 5-light
wood mullion casements to first floor of right wing, 4-light oriel
to left wing. Ribbed door in 4-centred arched head with carved
spandrels to centre of main range. Rear: jettied to first floor
and attic. Barn: Also from Sussex. C17 with C19 alterations. Timber-
framed with brick nogging and plain tile roof. Interior: Exposed
post and beams. Several types of C17 panelling including restored
painted panelling. C19 or early C20 staircase in a C17 style.
