House. C16 or earlier, altered mid C18 and late C20. Timber framed on red brick and
sandstone base and part exposed with plaster infill and clad with red brick on
ground floor and with plain tiled roof. Hall house origin of 3½ framed bays. Two
storeys and attic on plinth with arched braced panelled frame on first floor and
roof hipped with gablet to right and half-hipped wih gablet to left and with stack
cluster to centre left and 2 hipped dormers. Three C20 2 light wooden casements on
each floor, that to right on ground floor in catslide outshot, with evidence of
mullioned windows to upper left. Large C20 gabled porch to centre with rib and stud
door and sidelights and re-set tile over door inscribed: 1764 R CRAMP. C17 style
framing to left return (i.e. to rebuilt half-hip end) on base of large sandstone
blocks, and single storey hipped late C20 extension to rear.
