Country house, in landscaped garden. 1913, possibly by Mervyn Macartney. Red
brick with raised rusticated quoins, band and gauged heads. Deep coved eaves
cornice to plain tiled hipped roof with 9 hipped dormers. Tall brick stack
in centre behind ridge, with tall brick stacks to left and right of garden side
wings and single stacks at right end and to left. Entrance front: Flanking
wings to entrance. 2 storeys and attics. Central 2 storey porch with stone
triangular pediment above and keyed rusticated round-arched entrance below.
Panelled down. Single tall window to right, lighting staircase. Garden front:
Wings projecting to left and right. 2 storeys and attics. Slightly irregular
front of 2-2-3-2-1 rhythm, lattice wood-framed cross-windows with casements.
Central doubled panelled doors with large wooden open segmental pediment over
on brackets and wooden surround. Prominent downpipes with decorated hopper-
heads, dated 1913. Interior: 3-flight rectangular newel staircase with sala-
monic balusters.
