Circa 1830. Formerly a toll-house on the Newmarket Turnpike. Grey gault
brick. Single storey rectangular block with semi-octagonal bay projecting
on the road front. Modern 2 storey addition on the north-east. Sash windows,
some with glazing bars. Low-pitched hipped slate roofs, with bracketed
boxed eaves supported on slender free-standing cast-iron columns. Central
brick chimney. (RCHM 322).
