Block of flats. Circa 1935 by Guy Morgan. Pink brick in Flemish bond; overs ailing flat roof with boxed eaves, boarded soffit and brick chimneys. Together with detached block to south-west (flats nos 1 -15, qv) this range forms a large quadrangle with wide openings on west and south sides, and principal elevations facing on to the central courtyard and towards the road (west side). 3 storeys with further flat-roofed stages on roofs of east and west wings, the former providing loggia with storage cupboards behind, and the latter open-sided but with brick section housing water tank. In modern Movement style, having: metal windows, mostly of 2 or 3 lights, with tile cills, concrete lintels- and horizontal glazing bars on ground and first floors; wider, curved, comer-windows at ends of projecting, curved-cornered, bays and sections; wide entrances with glazed double-doors, curved flanking attached pilasters, and curved-cornered canopies; full-height stair-windows with glazing bars set above entrances; decorative railing to loggia. Rear elevations plainer with open-fronted, railed, stair-wells giving access to panelled and glazed back doors (original glazing ridged). Interior: flats have wooden floors; panelled cupboards and doors, some with overlights; tile window sills; some surviving original fireplaces with polished stone surrounds and tiled hearths. Stairs have dado rail and plain stair rails with wooden handrails. The southern part of the east wing originally housed a cafe and social club.

Together with the block containing flats nos 1 -15, the swimming pool with pump- house, and the pond in the sunken garden (qqv), this range forms an impressive 1930s luxury-apartment development in the Modern Movement style.
