House. Late C18 and mid-C19. Red brick front with rusticated
brick quoins, rendered and gabled rear; slate roof.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys, cellar and attics. 3 window range: 2
sashes with a single vertical bar in heavy cased frames with
shallow reveals and projecting sills; the central opening
blocked. The window on the right has been raised and has a
small gabled roof over it. A stucco band runs above the
ground-storey windows, which have flat stucco arches.
A lead-covered flat-headed dormer has a sash window with
single vertical glazing-bars. The recessed central door has 6
sunk panels, the top 2 glazed; the heavily rusticated wood
doorcase has a raised vermiculated keystone and plain reveals.
Attached to the north-east corner of the house is a very high
garden wall in which stone blocks are mixed with Tudor brick.
INTERIOR: mainly Victorian, with a series of cast-iron
fireplaces in Georgian style.
