House. 1816, for General James Wharton. Pale brown brick, cast-tile roof. 2 storeys, 3 bays in symmetrical elevation. (Parallel rear range in red brick.) End bays break forward slightly. Central glazed and panelled door with fanlight with radial glazing between projecting brick pilasters under segmental arch. Tripartite sashes with sills under gauged brick arches to right and left. First-floor band extending to limits of projecting bays only. First floor: tripartite sash with sill under gauged brick arch over door flanked to right and left by sashes with glazing bars and sills in segmental headed recesses. Projecting bays under blocking courses with square coped abutments. External end and axial stacks, raised coped gables on shaped kneelers. 1816 'I W' to rainwater heads.
