House of 4 builds. Late C17, C18 and C19 with C20 renovation. Coursed
rubble. Pantile roof. Direct entry to main 2-bay range which has added bay
to left. 2-bay range to right and a single-bay range with direct entry set
back to extreme right. 2 storeys, 6 first-floor windows. C20 part-glazed
door beneath divided overlight to third bay with 2-light Yorkshire sash and
16-pane sash to left. To right, fourth bay has 4-pane sash and fifth bay a
2-light Yorkshire sash with glazing bars. Sixth bay has C20 6-fielded-panel
door with casement to right, both beneath a common timber lintel. First
floor: 16-pane sash to first bay, 4-pane sashes to second and third bays,
16-pane sashes to fourth and fifth bays, 2-light Yorkshire sash with glazing
bars to sixth bay. The first bay and third and fourth bays both show
evidence of eaves level being raised. Ridge stacks and rebuilt right end
stack. Brick tumbling to left gable end. Interior: wide elliptical-arched
brick fireplace to main room. The left range is said to have been the
brewhouse for the Manor House which formerly stood between this house and
the church. Stable block to left not of special interest. Redford R, Mason
