Cottage. C17 with C20 additions and alterations. Timber-framed, rendered
wattle-and-daub and painted brick infill, brick refacing, tiled roof,
brick end stacks with tiled offsets. Three framed bays. Single storey
and attic with dormers. Framing: irregular panels, 3 from sill to wall-
plate, long straight braces in lower corners, raking strut trusses in
gable ends. Front elevation Regular arrangement of 2 ground floor 3-light
casements, 3 gabled dormers with 2-light casements, central C20 timber door;
tiled weathering runs full length of facade above door and ground floor
windows. Interior Intermediate interrupted tie-beam truss; single, trenched
purlins, winder staircase in central bay. Large C20 extension at rear.
Formerly the village blacksmith's cottage.
