The Old Hop Barn

(Formerly listed as Cowhouse about 16 yards north-east of Abingdon's Farmhouse, POPLAR ROAD)

Former cowhouse. Probably mid C17. Timber-framed with painted brick infill; tiled roof; two framed bays. Framing: square panels, three from sill to wall-plate, long, straight braces in lower corners, queen strut trusses in gable ends. Opposing doorway in centre of both main elevations.

Interior: roof has intermediate queen strut truss and single, trenched purlins. Floored throughout with partitions each side of central passageway.
