1924. Architect, Sir Aston Webb. Two-storey height in ashlar, with slate
roof. The side elevations have canted full-height end bays with one window
of 3-lights above one of 4-lights to each. The centre portion is filled by
3 mullion and transom windows of 15-lights, with arched upper lights, the bays
being divided by panels with shallow carved arches. Continuous treatment of
cills and heads. The ground floor similar but plainer to the north, including
a door to the south. The entrance front in the gable end consists of an arched
moulded bay containing a 9-light window with segmental head, mullions and transoms,
above the carved parapet above the double doors, which have glazing bars.
Glazed fanlight. Rectangular dripmould terminating, at impost height, in the
carved figures of a pelican and a squirrel, while above the door on the parapet,
as supporters of the school coat of arms are 2 warriors, one an airman. The
parapet is carved with roses and thistles.
