of Handmore Farmhouse

Outbuildings, comprising two barns, granary, stable and shelter shed. Barns
are probably late C17 or C18. Timber-frame with weatherboards. Welsh slate
and corrugated iron roofs. About three bays aligned west-south-west/east-
north-east. Wagon entries to south side. Raking-strut trusses. Granary
attached to east end of eastern barn, is probably C18. Sandstone rubble and
brick. Timber-framed upper storey with brick infill. Corrugated iron roof.
About four bays aligned roughly east/west. South elevation with stone tallet
stairs rising form left to ledged door. Ground floor has three single entries.
Interior has curved principals supporting collars with pegged posts and raking
struts. Stable attached to east end of granary. Late C18 or early C19. Sand-
stone rubble and weatherboarded timber-frame. Corrugated iron roof. Probably
two or three bays, aligned west-north-west/east-south-east. South elevation
has central loft opening with ledged door. Ground floor has two openings and
entry. Shelter shed is attached to east end of stable. Probably late C18 or
early C19 with later alterations. Sandstone rubble. Corrugated asbestos roof.
About ten bays aligned roughly north-west/south-east. South-west elevation has
oak posts with low ledged doors and low concrete walls. Interior has raking
Struts and troughs. The whole complex provides a long crescent to the north-
east of Handmore Farmhouse (not included).
