Shown on OS map as Bowel House. House. Early C17 with C19 alterations
and additions. Timber-framed, brick infill, tiled roof. Baffle entry
with 2 bay main range and 2 bay cross-wing, 2 storeys plus attic; all
windows have leaded lights. Main elevation has C19 gabled porch to
left bay with timber doorcase, C17 timber section set in lintel inscribed
"1627"; right bay has C19 ground floor oriel window and C19 first floor
casement. The cross-wing gable end has a C19 ground floor oriel window,
a first floor C20 casement and C20 attic casement. Above the entrance
bay is a cluster of 4 brick chimney stacks, with oversailing cap courses,
rebuilt. Various C19 and C20 extensions to the rear.
