House. Mid C18. Roughcast, tiled, hipped roofs, brick end stack to left.
Plan consists of front range and 2 additional parallel rear ranges of the
same height and depth as the front range. 3 storeys, 6 bays, glazing bar
sashes, entrance by porch of 2 Tuscan columns supporting entablature through
glazed C20 door to third bay from right. To left is a late C19 2 bay 2 storeys
extension which connects with a long single storey late C18/early C19 service
wing backing on to rear court yard. Interior: left main front room has re-
positioned mid-late C18 fireplace with swagged frieze; right main front room
has C20 decoration in C18 style; C20 open well plan balustered staircase.
The contemporary staircase behind the entrance bay was removed c.1975 and
the C20 staircase inserted one bay to left. (The rest of interior not
inspected). A right hand wing, probably late C19 was demolished c.1971.
The rear 2 ranges have at their junction a central large stack probably
indicative of a C17 rear portion of the house.
