Farmhouse, now house. Probably late C18 to early C19 with earlier elements,
probably C17, and later alterations. Timber-frame, largely rebuilt in brick
with some sandstone rubble. Welsh and sandstone slate roofs with brick stacks.
L-plan consisting of four-bay house aligned north/south with seven-bay granary
extending westwards from north end. Cellar, two storeys and attic. West
elevation has three windows, 3-, 2- and 3-light late C20 casements with cambered
heads. Dentilled brick eaves cornice and two late C20 skylights. Granary pro-
jecting forwards from left-hand side has six-panelled door, possibly C18 in
right-hand return. East elevation has large brick side stack. North elevation
of granary has three rows of square timber-framed panels to first floor above
sandstone rubble ground floor. Interior has deeply chamfered ceiling beams,
probably C17, forming panels at the junction of the house and granary range.
Kitchen and principal ground floor room have segmental C18 brick arches over
stone jambs of fireplaces. Kitchen has C17 lamb's tongue chamfer stops to
ceiling beams. Oak floorboards. Some trusses of house have raking struts,
others pegged king-posts over ties supported on curved principals. Granary
has king-post trusses with two pairs of raking struts.
