5/30 Hockerill's Farmhouse

Farmhouse. C17 with mid-C19 and mid-C20 alterations. Timber-framed,
painted brick infill and replacement walling, plain tiled roof. Three
framed bays aligned north/south; large external chimney with offsets and
rebuilt detached stack at south gable end, also external chimney at north
gable end. Single storey and attic with dormers. Framing: three panels
from sill to wall-plate, collar and tie-beam truss with struts visible
in gable ends. West front elevation: three 2-light casements (one with
a plank weathering) and a large 3-light casement with a plank weathering
on the ground floor; three C20 flat-roofed dormers with 2-light casements;
main entrance to left of south bay has a gabled porch on posts with trellis
infill and a part-glazed door. Interior not inspected. Lean-to additions
at gable ends enclose external chimneys.
