House. Early C19 with mid-C20 alterations. Stucco, hipped, shallow-
pitched slate roof with overhanging eaves and massive stuccoed chimney
stacks. Mainly 3 storeys; 4 plus 2 bays which break forward at right
side; 2 left side bays flanked by giant pilasters and have tall cross
casements on both storeys, the first floor windows having ornate wrought
iron balconies on wrought iron brackets; the third bay has the main
entrance within a wide portico with paired Tuscan columns with stone
balcony above having pierced central and side panels; part-glazed double
doors with moulded architrave and round-arched side lights; immediately
right of the protico is a narrow plain sash, and above are first and
second floor tripartite sash windows; the fourth bay has a 15-pane ground
floor sash, a first floor glazing bar sash and a second floor 6-pane sash;
the projecting bays to the right have a flat roofed ground floor extension;
the left side bay has a first floor glazing bar sash and a second floor 6-pane
sash; the right side first and second floor windows are blocked.
South side elevation: has a 2-storey canted bay on the left side and 2 bays
to the right; the right end bay is flanked by giant pilasters; windows all
have blind boxes and are mainly tall cross casements; the first floor windows
have bracketed cornices and wrought iron balconies continuous across centre
and canted bay; the central bay has a part-glazed door with moulded architrave
and oculus above with a surround carved like a wreath with trailing ribbons.
