Pair. c.1850 in Italianate style. Stuccoed with rusticated ground floor, no 3
with slate roof, nos 1 and 38 Brockley Rise with renewed modern pantiled roof,
and painted brick chimneystacks. Each is of 2 storeys, 1 window to centre and
set back 3 storey, 1 window lower wing to each side. Low pitched hipped roofs
with deep curved brackets to eaves soffits. rusticated ground floor with
cornice. Centre part has 3-light sashes with round heads and chamfered arches,
the ground floor ones in square bays. Towers have 2-light round headed 2nd
floor windows and 1st floor square sashes with verticals only in moulded archi-
traves. Double doors of 6 panels under segmental arch with moulded architrave
and keystones resting on wide pilasters. Console bracketed cornice over. No 3
has top 2 panels glazed, no 1 top 4 side elevations have square sashes with
verticals only and ground floor square bay with 3 round-headed windows. No 38
is of 2 storeys, the top storey pebbledashed, the ground floor rusticated stucco
with C20 pantiled roof. 1st floor has French window, ground floor has 4 panel-
led door behind C20 porch and altered window to ground floor. C20 flat exten-
sions to rear not of special interest.
