House whose external appearance is entirely Victorian. 2 storeys, many windows
irregular. Roofs tiled, walls partly of painted brick and partly stuccoed. Rear
elevation shows older part in centre flanked by late C19 and early C20 wings.
Older part, of circa 1600, refaced with mock half-timbered and roughcast filling,
with a large early C20 canted bay through 2 floors. Inside the old part has a
side-purlin roof with wind-braces. Some exposed timbers including chamfered beams
beams on ground floor. Stout posts on both floors, all of elm. On front elevation
one door with early C19 patterned radial fanlight.
