In front of Gate House, actually in TILT YARD APPROACH, brick walls with sloped
coping and gabled gate piers, probably late C17 or early C18. Brick walls of
similar type along West side of garden. On East side original C16 red brick
wall complete with sloped coping. Inside this wall small niches with pointed
heads every 3 or 4 yards. Diaper of blue headers in central part. On South
side original wall much repaired in C19 and coping lost. Running East from South-East
corner of Gate House, a piece of red brick wall of C18 appearance, said to be
part of earlier Gate House.
