Circa 1830 tall pair of Tudor style houses, each 3 storeys, attic and basement,
2 windows; set back, 2-storey 1-window left extension to No 53; battlemented,
flush extension to right of No 55. High pitched, slate roof. Each house has
a steep gable rising from battlemented parapet. Red brick with diaper of black
headers. Tall brick chimney stacks with cornices in several planes. Stone strings
at all floor levels. Gauged, flat brick arches and chamfered reveals to 1-
and 2-light casement windows. Stone drip moulds to larger 1st floor windows.
Doorways have square drip moulds, raised in centre, with shield in label. Patterned
spandrels over Tudor arch containing door with reeded cornice head, fanlight
and side lights. 4 stone steps. Cast iron area railings with heart shaped pattern.
Small door in right extension to No 55.
