Circa 1080. Small church built by a community of monks. Early church, single
cell with apsidal east end. North wall remains with fragments of south wall in
later work. Enlarged during C19 to provide south aisle, chancel and organ
recess on north side. A modern vestry has also been added on the south side.
Gallery at west end probably renewed C19. Tower added circa 1828. A number of
hatchments of C18 and C19.
