Shop; part C17 or earlier, probably first-half C18 front, altered
late C19 and C20. Flemish-bond brickwork, tiled roof. Four
windows wide, 2 rooms deep, 2 storeys and attics. Ground floor,
left window to end of No 6: 1984 frame under original cambered
arch; plain brick plinth below. To right shop front, 6 vertical
sheets glass over low stallboard, plain pilasters each side,
consoles frame plain fascia, projecting top over. Beyond window,
glazed door and further pilaster, 3 sheet window, pilaster at end,
fascia as first section over whole. First floor left 3 semi-
circular headed windows, stone sill, moulded brick surround,
projecting stone springers and keystones. Semi-circular head with
intersecting glazing bars set forward of 12-pane base, as a sash:
wide glazing bars. Above pediment with moulded brick dentils:
semi-circular window in centre as top of windows below. On right
slight set back, tripartite sash window to first floor, single-pane
sashes; eaves as for pediment. Roof parallel to road, ridge
slightly higher over pedimented section: brick chimney forward of
ridge, left of centre of pediment.
Internally, main shop on left, ceiling quartered with beams, heavy
chamfer with bar and decorative leaf stop. Rear wall of property
Limber-framed, also cross wall and gable to No 10.
