Appears late C17 with an early C18 remodelling. Coursed and squared rubble.
Cotswold stone roof; large chimney to left of centre with a pair of corniced
diagonal stacks. One large and 2 smaller gables with verges and copings. Vestiges
of C17 windows. Two and a half storeys. Six windows, glazing bar sashes in beaded
stone surrounds, spaced 1:1: 2:2 (latter in pairs). The 3 attic windows are casements
with segmental heads and corniced keystones. Ground floor to left has an early C18
bow window with tented lead roof. Doorway has stone hood on carved consoles - 9 panel
doorway in panelled reveals, similar to north end terrace instead into former coach
entry. Low C19 arrow-head railings in front.
Good interior, remodelled probably early-mid C19, incorporates part of an earlier
structure with arch-braced collar trusses in 2 parts of the roof (centre and north
end) and the upper part of a splat balluster staircase (turned ballusters to lower
part). An early C18 fireplace in central first floor room. Numerous period features
of the C18 and early C19 - including the main staircase. Thought to have been a
central hall with side wings.
