1859. 2-storey building in Gothic style, with irregular fenestration.
Brick with diamond patterns, stone dressings Tiled roof of fairly high
pitch with 2 gables facing street and, at left, an octagonal turret with
spire, half projecting as a 1st floor oriel Tell chimney at left with
stone quoins and cornice. Stone eaves cornice, broken by oriel but running
across central gable. Oriel has a tall, square headed central light with
curvilinear tracery in upper part; and 2 shorter ogee-headed, cusped side
lights, In central bay three adjoining 2-light windows with cusped heads
under Tudor arches with continuous hood-moulds In right bay an oriel
window of three lights with curvilinear tracery, pointed arch and nodding
ogee hood mould. Moulded string at lst floor broken forward around the
oriels and rising to square arch with shield in centre over main doorway.
On ground floor three large pointed arched entrances, double chamfered
with hoodmoulds, the 1st and 3rd.divided by round shafts with foliated
caps. The first accommodates the base of the left oriel, the second holds
large double doors, the third, has central oculus with mouchettes. At extreme
right a smaller entrance with stilted, pointed arch and hoodmould. Round
clock on decorative iron bracket projects from central gable.
