Farmhouse. Mid-late C17. 2 storeys with attics. Garden front of 2 builds.
Ground floor coursed carstone with galleting, first floor squared and coursed
carstone with galleting, suggesting C18 heightening and re-roofing. Brick
dressings, C20 red pantiled roof. House to west single ground floor 3-light
cross window casement in narrowed Cl7 brick dressed opening, first floor single
2-light casement with large glazing bar in original C17 brick dressed opening.
Blocked ground floor brick dressed fire window at east. Main 2 storey with
attics build to east : ground floor 2 3-light and one 2-light arched headed
casement windows. First floor 3 2-light casements with single glazing bars,
inserted into original brick dressed openings. Ground floor some isolated
brick stitching to former openings, blocked fire window at west. C20 part
glazed door. 2 C20 gabled dormers with 2-light casements. Brick kneeler
at east determines original height of springing of roof. Brick coped parapets
with one party wall and east and west end gable stack. Elaborate east and
west gables c.1700, at west carstone and chalk chequerwork with brick
dressings and 2 blocked rectangular brick dressed windows. Re-roofed at rear
and 2 storey C19 outshut addition.
